Service Animal Policy:
SporTran welcomes service animals onto all our buses.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines Service Animals as any guide dog, signal dog or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability. The ADA does not limit the kind of animal that can provide service or the types of tasks a service animal can perform for an individual.
If you meet the outlined requirements, no license is required, but you may be asked to confirm that your animal is a service animal.
A few things to keep in mind when bringing your service animal on board a SporTran Bus:
-
You are responsible for the supervision and actions of your animal while on board.
-
The animal must be in a harness, a leash, or be secured in some way; or the individual must maintain effective control
-
by voice, signals or some other effective means.
-
The animal must not be disruptive and/or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others.
-
With few exceptions, the animal is expected to remain on the floor.
-
The animal must be housebroken
